The Extravagance of the Sun King

As I roamed around the grand halls of the Palace of Versailles, I was amazed at the opulence and extravagance of the Sun King, Louis XIV. The palace is a testament to the French monarchy's grandeur and power, and it's easy to see why it's a popular tourist destination. I learned about the palace's history, including its transformation from a hunting lodge to the grand palace we see today. The gardens were expansive and well-maintained, housing fountains and manicured lawns and flower beds. I compared this magnificent palace with other regal places in France, and there is none that comes anywhere near it.
