The hotel's history is colorful and fascinating, as it was originally built in the 1860s as a beach cottage. The décor is a stunning blend of colonial and modern styles, and the amenities are world-class. The view from my room of the Indian Ocean was breathtaking and the beach was just steps away. I appreciated the attention to detail throughout the hotel, as evidenced by the personalized welcome note in my room and the fresh flowers that decorated each common area. In terms of food, I highly recommend the seafood buffet at the Ocean Terrace restaurant. It featured an array of fresh local seafood that was expertly prepared and presented.
