Exploring the Subterranean Wonders of Oregon
The Oregon Caves National Monument is a maze of marble caverns nestled deep within the Siskiyou Mountains in southern Oregon. As I descended down the narrow winding road to the entrance of the caves, I couldn't help but be in awe of the surrounding scenery. The caves are a marvel of geological wonders and I spent several hours exploring the winding passageways and admiring the unique formations of stalagmites and stalactites. The ranger-guided tour was informative and entertaining, providing historical and cultural context to the caves' discovery and protection. As I emerged out of the mouth of the cave, I reflected on the extraordinary beauty hidden beneath the earth's surface.
