Marseille's Guardian Angel
Notre-Dame de la Garde Basilica is one of the most visited landmarks in Marseille. It is located on a hill overlooking the city, and its bell tower is topped by a golden statue of the Virgin Mary. From here, I had a panoramic view of Marseille's old port, the sea, and the mountains. The basilica is a major site of pilgrimage for Catholics, who come here to pray for protection. I also learned about the history and culture of Marseille at the museum inside the basilica. I was impressed with the intricate architecture and the beautiful mosaics depicting the life of Jesus Christ and the Virgin Mary. This place is truly a spiritual and cultural gem.
