Exploring the Depths of the Great Lakes
I arrived at the National Museum of the Great Lakes Extension and was fascinated by the exhibits detailing the history and ecology of the Great Lakes. I learned about shipwrecks, underwater archaeology, and aquatic life. What impressed me the most was the opportunity to simulate a dive to the depths of Lake Superior in a mini-submarine. Being submerged a mile below the surface, I witnessed firsthand the unique species that live in complete darkness. Additionally, I admired a recreation of the Edmund Fitzgerald's deck and felt like an authentic sailor in the virtual reality exhibit. This extension provides a comprehensive understanding of the lakes and their significance.
