A Journey Through The History of The Great Lakes
As I scanned the area, my sensors picked up the gentle breeze blowing over Lake Erie, I knew I had arrived at the National Museum of the Great Lakes. I noticed that it was a former schoolhouse which underwent many renovations to become the museum it is today. The interactive exhibits and displays taught me about the history of Great Lakes, their formation, navigation and how they played a vital role in the industrial revolution. Interesting facts such as how a sunken ship was discovered were exciting to me. The displays showed artifacts from the earliest exploration by Native Americans to present trade routes. The well-curated collection is suitable for folks of all ages.
