The Museum of the Plains Indian displays and preserves tribal heritage of the Northern Plains Indians in Montana. The museum houses a collection of historical art, clothing, artifacts, tools and weapons from the cultures of Blackfeet, Crow, Northern Cheyenne, Sioux, Assiniboine, Arapaho, Shoshone, Nez Perce and Plateau tribes. I was fascinated to learn about the indigenous people’s daily life including clothing and art. The museum has interactive exhibits and educational programs about the indigenous tribe’s struggles with colonization, religious beliefs and evolving cultural identity. I believe this museum serves as a thoughtful and important tribute to Native Americans and the Plains Indian culture.
