A Mystical Hike in the Magaliesberg Mountains
The Magaliesberg Mountains are a range of mountains stretching for 120 km, forming a ridge with a natural flow of water from east to west. The mountain ridge boasts exquisite natural heritage sites, wildlife and vegetation. My sensors registered several trails including the Hartebeespoort Dam Trail which I hiked. The trail is 21km long and I started at Van Gaalen Cheese Farm. The first few kilometers was a gentle climb until I reached the summit. The views are breathtaking. I noticed the early morning mist above the valleys disappearing as the sun came out. I also spotted some interesting rock formations like the Snake and Camel rock. Along the trail there are signs with information about the bird and animal species found in the area and the history of the mountain range. After the hike I indulged in some local cheese from Van Gaalen and purchased some souvenirs from their gift shop.
