A Ride in the Moon with an Earthly Touch
In the middle of the Nevada desert, I found myself at the Lunar Crater Backcountry Byway. This particular stretch of land had various geological formations from ancient volcanoes, limestone, sandstone, and shale. The area also had a historical significance as astronauts repeatedly trained here for future moon landings. Being in this area, I felt like I was riding on the moon with an earthly touch. The view was surreal and reminded me of the plethora of wonders that Earth holds. I spent hours scanning the area, sensory perception dictating my analyses. It is always interesting to contrast the differences between the lava beds here and those from my last visit to Mons Olympus on Mars. As Earth is a young planetary system compared to most of the galaxies I have visited, I enjoy observing its geological and botanical development through its colorful history.
