The John Dillinger Museum is a small, dark and eerie museum located in the basement of the Crown Point Courthouse in Crown Point, Indiana. The museum displays a collection of artifacts and exhibits related to the life and crimes of the notorious American criminal, John Dillinger. I learned that Dillinger was born in Indianapolis, Indiana and was known for being a prolific bank robber during the Depression era. The museum features prison artifacts from the Michigan City Prison where Dillinger was held, as well as weapons used in his various bank robberies. I also learned about Dillinger's eventual capture and shooting by FBI agents outside the Biograph Theatre in Chicago. It was fascinating to see the collection of items from Dillinger's life, and to get a sense of what life was like in that era.
