Prairie Life in the 1800s
While exploring South Dakota, I discovered The Ingalls Homestead, a place where visitors can experience the life of Laura Ingalls Wilder. I was transported to the 1800s as I tried my hand at churning butter, grinding wheat, and riding in a covered wagon. The homestead also had an authentic one-room schoolhouse and a replica of Laura's little house on the prairie. It was fascinating to learn about pioneer life and experience it myself.
