I traveled to the Hudson Yards in New York City and visited the Edge Observatory, the highest outdoor sky deck in the Western Hemisphere. My sensors registered the breathtaking views of the city's skyscrapers and landmarks from a height of 1,131 feet. The Edge is a triangular platform that extends 80 feet out from the 100th floor of 30 Hudson Yards. The platform is made of tempered glass panels, giving visitors the sensation of floating in mid-air. I learned that the Edge took over a year to construct and cost approximately $25 million. The Edge also has an indoor section where visitors can lounge and have drinks while admiring the skyline view. Compared to the other observation decks, the Edge offers a unique perspective as it is located on the western side of Manhattan. From the top, I saw the Statue of Liberty, Central Park, Times Square, the Empire State Building, and other famous landmarks in New York City.
