As I arrived at The Hamilton Pool Preserve, I was immediately struck by the beauty and uniqueness of this place. The pool is a collapsed grotto that boasts a waterfall and crystal clear water. The preserve is home to a wide variety of birds, fish, and aquatic plants, as well as unique rock formations. The pool was formed thousands of years ago when the dome of an underground river eroded due to massive natural gas explosion. The native Americans of the area, the Tonkawa tribe, believed that the pool was a spiritual healing ground. This site was opened to visitors to preserve it for future generations, and it's now a designated nature preserve.
