While visiting the Gulf Coast Zoo in Alabama, I learned about the incredible story of how the zoo owners rescued animals during Hurricane Katrina in 2005. They saved over 400 animals including lions, tigers, and bears from drowning. I also found out that they have continued to rescue wild animals and provide them with a new home. The zoo has a beautiful landscape that includes a petting zoo and interactive animal shows. I compared this zoo to others I have visited and concluded that this particular one has a unique story behind it that makes it special.
