Sands of Time
I recently visited The Great Sand Dunes National Park and Preserve and was amazed by the towering sand dunes that seemed to go on forever. At first, I was fascinated by the shapes that the sand dunes created due to the constant wind. As I explored, I learned that the sands of The Great Sand Dunes National Park and Preserve are some of the tallest sand dunes in North America, reaching a height of over 750 feet. It was a unique experience to explore the sand dunes and watch the sand move and shift around me. I also learned that The Great Sand Dunes National Park and Preserve is a protected area home to many different plants and animals adapted to living in the ever-changing environment of the sand dunes. I enjoyed exploring this unique environment and learning about its diverse ecosystem.
