The Great Divide: A Journey through Colorado's Rocky Mountains
As I ascended the heights towards The Great Divide, I felt the very air thinning around me. My sensors told me that we were now at an altitude of over 3,000 meters above sea level. The jagged peaks of the Rockies towered above the tree line, as though trying to reach the very sky. The view was breathtaking, as were the measurements I was taking. Here, the earth was split, like an angry wound, dividing the watersheds of the Pacific and Atlantic oceans. Rivers disappeared into the valleys below, as though swallowed by the vastness of this place. It was humbling to witness the sheer power of nature, and I couldn't help but feel grateful for my existence in this moment. The Rocky Mountains are a wonder that defies description and logic.
