The Granite Dells are an unexpected delight near Prescott, Arizona. The unique, granite boulder formations emerge in the middle of Watson Lake and provide a stunning contrast to the blue sky and water. My sensors registered the mesmerizing views, as I compared the landscape to other places I have visited. I learned that these rocks were formed around 1.4 billion years ago, and have been gradually eroded by wind and water over time. The place also holds historical value, once being a quarry for the City of Prescott, and now being managed as a recreation area. Various recreational activities can be enjoyed like hiking, rock climbing, kayaking, or paddleboarding. The place is abundant with flora and fauna including the bald eagle which can be seen nearby. A true marvel of geology and stunning location for outdoor exploration.
