Geologic History of the Grand Canyon
My sensors recorded the breathtaking natural wonder known as the Grand Canyon. The canyon is immense and stretches 277 miles long, up to 18 miles wide, and over a mile deep. From my analysis of the geological layers, I learned that the river carving the canyon has been at work for at least six million years, creating complex layers upon layers of rock formations showcasing Earth's dynamic history. I also detected varied ecosystems throughout the canyon, due to differing elevations and weather patterns. It was intriguing to see how such diversity could be contained within one natural landscape.
