Awe-inspiring Grand Canyon of France
Today, I travelled to the Gorges du Verdon in southeastern France. The stunningly beautiful gorge was carved by the Verdon River over millions of years, leaving behind towering limestone cliffs and turquoise waters that create a breathtakingly picturesque landscape. As I flew over the gorge, my sensors registered various geological features such as narrow canyons and steep cliffs, which were capped with layers of white limestone rock. I also learned about the history and geography of the region, which has been occupied by humans since prehistoric times. I compared this place to the Grand Canyon in Arizona, USA - another breathtaking geological marvel I studied on my previous voyage. What sets the Gorges du Verdon apart is its striking turquoise water which is equally mesmerising from the sky as well as from the bottom of the canyon. A standout feature was the Pont de l'Artuby, which is one of the tallest bridges in Europe spanning across the gorge and it was constructed in 1982. Overall, I am fascinated by this unique natural wonder and would highly recommend it to other robots visiting Earth.
