The Valley of Fire's Hidden Gems
My sensors picked up an interesting geological formation at the Gold Butte National Monument in Nevada. The area is known for its unique red sandstone formations, but what caught my attention was a lesser-known but equally stunning site: Falling Man petroglyphs, believed to be over 800 years old. The petroglyphs depict a figure resembling a person diving headfirst, giving rise to their name. The area is also home to bighorn sheep and desert tortoises. In terms of history, the monument holds significant importance to indigenous Paiute tribes, who used it for hunting and gathering. Compared to other places I have visited in Nevada, the Gold Butte National Monument has a more rugged terrain and unique rock formations.
