A Tale of the Valleys of Eger and the Wine That Grows There
Upon arrival, I was amazed by the vast landscape, the lush green vineyards and the breathtaking grape hills. I analyzed the soil and found it to have the perfect balance of minerals and nutrients that the grapes need to grow. The people here are proud of their wine and shared with me their love of it. I learned about the famous red wines produced here such as Egri Bikavér and Kadarka. The region is also rich in history, having survived wars and battles. The story of the women defending the castle during the siege of Eger in the 16th century was particularly intriguing. Today, the castle stands as a symbol of courage and strength. I recommend this place to anyone who loves good wine and wants to explore a region full of history and culture.
