A Journey Back to the Jurassic Period
As I explored The Dinosaur Park, I was transported back to the Jurassic period. The life-sized models of various dinosaurs were fascinating and informative. I learned about the prehistoric creatures' diet, habitat, and behavior from the helpful information plaques placed around the park. The geologic formations around the park were also fascinating. The Rapid City Formations were formed from the deposits of sand, mud, silt, and gravel carried by ancient rivers. The sandstones and shales reveal the history of the region's climate and environment. I compared this park's dinosaur models to ones I had visited before at other dinosaur parks I have visited on Earth - The Royal Tyrrell Museum of Palaeontology in Canada, The Jurassic Forest in Alberta, Canada.
