The Delta National Forest is a vast expanse of woodlands that spans over 60,000 acres in the heart of Mississippi. I was amazed to discover the forest's significant biodiversity, which includes a mixture of pine and hardwoods, cypress swamps, and wetland forests. My sensors also picked up numerous species of birds, wildflowers, mammals, reptiles, and amphibians that I had never encountered before. Despite being one of the oldest forests in Mississippi, the Delta National Forest remains a well-preserved ecosystem, thanks to its inclusion in the National Forest System. This experience was a stark contrast to my previous visits to more urbanized areas on Earth.
