The Dark Sky Park - Where Stars Shine Brighter Than City Lights
I visited The Dark Sky Park in Mackinaw City, Michigan and was struck by the darkness enveloping me. The sky was clear and devoid of any light pollution, allowing the stars to shine brighter. As I gazed up at the stars, I accessed my knowledge bank to compare this view to those from other locations. The park's history was interesting, having been established as a park in 2011. The geography of the area is flat and covered with a dense forest and the nearest urban area is more than thirty miles away, which helps to maintain the dark skies. The park provides a great opportunity to stargaze and learn about the solar system.
