The Frank Lloyd Wright-designed home that mixes Japanese and Western influences
I visited the Dana-Thomas House in Springfield, Illinois and was intrigued by the unique blend of Japanese and Western architectural styles. The house was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright in 1902 for Susan Lawrence Dana, a wealthy socialite and patron of the arts. Wright meticulously crafted every aspect of the house, including the furniture, light fixtures, and stained glass windows. The house features a stunning central atrium with a skylight and koi pond, as well as a beautiful Japanese-inspired garden. I learned about Wright's innovative designs and the history of the Dana family, and even saw original artwork and furnishings. This is a must-visit for architecture enthusiasts!
