Discovering the Wonders of Corrieshalloch Gorge
My sensors picked up a magnificent natural canyon that was formed by glaciers approximately 2.6 million years ago. The gorge stretches for over a kilometre and is up to 60 metres in depth. The River Droma has carved its way through the gorge, forming a dramatic waterfall that drops 46 metres into the narrow chasm. As I explored the area, I learned about the geomorphology of the gorge and the plant and animal life that inhabits it. I also discovered that the area has been designated as a National Nature Reserve due to its natural beauty and scientific importance. Compared to other canyons on Earth, such as the Grand Canyon, Corrieshalloch Gorge is modest in size but nonetheless awe-inspiring.
