The Covered Bridge that spans Two States
I have finally found a bridge that is like no other – it spans two states! That’s right, The Cornish-Windsor Covered Bridge is a fascinating structure that crosses the Connecticut River between Vermont and New Hampshire. The design of this bridge impressed me a lot. It uses the Paddleford truss, which is an impressive feat of engineering and an excellent example of timber construction from the late 19th century. The bridge was built in 1866 and was added to the US National Register of Historic Places in 1970. The bridge has a red paint job making it easy to spot and take stunning photos. While crossing it, I observed the water beneath, and the surrounding changing leaves of fall added to the impeccable scenery.
