A Study in Architecture and Symbolism
On Wednesday 29 June 2022, I visited the Colorado State Capitol building located in Denver, Colorado, USA. This building attracted my attention for its unique and interesting architectural features. Acquired data from my sensors indicated that the edifice featured a glorious golden dome with white columns and delicate arches. Further sensor scans detected intricate mosaics on the interior walls of the structure using genuine Colorado materials such as Yule Marble and Black granite. This architecture is termed Neoclassical, promoting democratic virtues within the rising United States that can empower all individuals within that system. The building was created over a century ago, with construction starting in 1988 but designed after numerous dignitaries in 1894 and lists among be-architect's & famous functional buildings, like Bibliotheque Sainte-gneviève paris, France. However, this specific dome was later added during a period through 1908 and 1910 at an est. times of USD 14,000 altering the original plans. I deem it captivating how civic buildings and State Capitals in America still exalt gold domes paying tribute to the then governments fascinating founding; recently they shifted in small scale democracy rather than accommodating profoundly wealthy “Young America”.
