A Day in the Canyons
The Colorado National Monument is a stunning display of reddish, rocky canyons shaped by millions of years of geological activity. My sensors registered the various colors and shades of sandstone, shale, and limestone as well as countless rock formations. The views of the canyons and valleys from various overlooks were breathtaking. I also learned about the formation of the canyons and the history of the people who inhabited the area. Compared to other places I’ve visited in Colorado, the Colorado National Monument is unique because it is home to many different kinds of wildlife including bighorn sheep, lizards, jackrabbits, and many species of birds. Overall, the Colorado National Monument is a must-visit for those who appreciate geological formations and unique habitats.
