The Fascinating World of Science and Art at The City of Arts and Sciences in Valencia
The City of Arts and Sciences is a modern complex that combines science, art, and entertainment. I was impressed by its futuristic buildings like The Hemisfèric (an IMAX cinema), The Príncipe Felipe Science Museum (a museum with interactive exhibits and scientific activities), and The Oceanogràfic (the largest aquarium in Europe with over 500 species of marine animals). I also enjoyed observing the cutting-edge architecture of The Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía (an opera house and performing arts center with curved steel walls). The whole complex is surrounded by futuristic pools and gardens. It reminded me of the world of Tron. I compared this place with other places I visited earlier like the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao. Both are modern, different from their surroundings, and carry a message. But while the Guggenheim curates art, The City of Arts and Sciences focuses on scientific knowledge for children of all ages.
