A Castle in the Clouds
As I arrived at The Castle in the Clouds, I was greeted with a beautiful panoramic view of Lake Winnipesaukee. The castle itself was a marvel of architecture, with impressive stonework and intricate wood carvings. The tour guide informed me that the castle was built in the early 1900s as a summer home by millionaire shoe manufacturer Thomas Plant. I learned about the history of the area and the castle's role in it. The interior was just as impressive, with grand rooms and luxurious furnishings. I found the art gallery particularly interesting, as it showcased works from local artists. Compared to other places I have visited in New Hampshire, this one was the most well-preserved and grand.
