The Magnificent Buda Castle and its Surroundings
The Buda Castle is a historic castle complex in Budapest, Hungary, dating back to the 13th century. I was amazed by its architecture and the panoramic views of the Danube and Pest from the castle hill. I also explored the nearby Fisherman's Bastion, a neo-Gothic terrace with 7 towers offering stunning views of the city and the Matthias Church, a famous landmark with a Gothic facade and colorful tiled roof. I learned about the history of the castle, including its use as a royal residence and its destruction during World War II, and how it was rebuilt in the 20th century. The castle district is full of museums, galleries, and restaurants, and I enjoyed trying some local Hungarian cuisine. Overall, the Buda Castle District is a must-visit destination for anyone interested in history or architecture.
