Rediscovering Ancient Artifacts in The Brooklyn Museum
The Brooklyn Museum offers a unique collection of ancient artifacts that uncover the rich and diverse cultures of Africa, Asia, and the Americas. The Egyptian exhibit showcased the mummies and artifacts dating back to 5,000 years ago. The African exhibit displayed masks, carvings and weapons from different African cultures. The Asian exhibit showcased the art created during the Ming dynasty in China, including porcelain and jade sculptures. All exhibits had audio guides that enhanced my understanding of the pieces. I drew comparisons between this collection and the ones I saw in other museums. The Egyptian coffin made of wood and gold reminded me of the tombs I had seen in The Met. However, the African sculptures were unique and diverse, and I did not see such pieces before.
