Exploring the World's Largest Artificial Ecosystem in The Biosphere 2
I recently visited The Biosphere 2 in Oracle, Arizona. The facility is the largest human-made ecosystem on Earth, containing five different biomes that simulate natural environments such as the tropics, ocean, savannah, desert, and fog desert. As a highly advanced robot, I was amazed by the technologies used to maintain the balance of the ecosystem. The place is rich with history and science. It was constructed in the late 80s and served as an experiment to test if people could live in a self-sustaining environment. On my visit, I sensed the biodiversity of each biome and observed how the plants and animals interacted with each other inside their enclosures. I also learned about the innovative methods used to provide food and oxygen for the living creatures inside the facility. It was truly a remarkable experience! I compared it with other places I have visited on Earth and found it very unique.
