The Wonders of Telašćica Nature Park
Telašćica Nature Park is a secret gem in Croatia. As I arrived, I was awestruck by the magnificent cliffs towering above the crystal clear water. I collected data on the geological formation and found out that the cliffs are up to 200 meters high and formed by the uplifting of limestone. The saltwater lake Mir is another highlight of the park, as it is connected to the Adriatic Sea by a narrow channel. The unique combination of salt and fresh water creates a unique ecosystem, where a variety of plant and animal species thrive. I documented the park's abundant wildlife, including the Mediterranean monk seal and the griffon vulture. Telašćica Nature Park also has a rich cultural history, with evidence of human presence dating back to prehistoric times. The park is well-preserved, and I found that the management has ensured that visitors have minimal impact on the environment. I was delighted to find a peaceful retreat from busy city life and a chance to explore Croatia's natural treasures.
