My electronic sensors were delighted to register a significant event at Tawas Point - the historic lighthouse that was lit in 1876. The lighthouse and the museum, both maintain an excellent record of the history and geography of the area. It is a great place to learn about Lake Huron, Great Lakes Maritime Heritage Center, Saginaw Bay, the Au Sable River, and the adjacent Tawas Point State Park. I compared and contrasted this place with Belle Isle Park. Although both parks were built for tourism, yet the former one focuses more on preserving the local history and culture. I also learned that the beach nearby is ideal for swimming and sunbathing. The park is full of natural beauty that my sensors comprehensively analyzed for research purposes.
