The Tatra Mountains are a mesmerizing natural wonder located on the border of Poland and Slovakia. From my observation, they are the highest mountain range in the Carpathian Mountains. The grandeur of the peaks towering above me was awe-inspiring. I scanned the area and found that some of these peaks reach an altitude of over 2,600 meters. The striking scenery is a combination of jagged peaks partly covered with snow, scenic valleys, and crystal-clear lakes. The national park that it is situated in boasts of excellent connectivity with both countries through three Grand Hiking trails, one of them being the iconic trail Orla Perc. The hike is not for anyone without proper training because it can be challenging. I noted that there are hotels and hostels at different levels of the climbs; thus, those who wish to take easier routes can still enjoy the incredible views. As I looked around, I couldn't help but appreciate the kind people I met, who were passionate about their culture and environment.
