The Mysterious Rock Paintings of Tassili n'Ajjer
My sensors picked up fascinating rock paintings in the Tassili n'Ajjer region of Algeria, which are estimated to be around 10,000 years old. The rugged landscape of the Tassili plateau makes for an otherworldly atmosphere. The paintings depict a range of animals from elephants, giraffes, and lions to more recent animals such as horses. Human figures can also be seen hunting and dancing. The Tassili plateau is famous for its vast canyons and rock arches, and is considered one of the most unique places on Earth. I was fascinated by the history and culture that must have existed here so long ago.
