Exploring the labyrinthine alleys of Tangiers Kasbah
As I wandered through the narrow alleys of the Kasbah, I marveled at the intricate winding streets. The buildings were painted in shades of white and blue, with colorful doors and windows. I learned about the rich history of this fortified district, which was once inhabited by pirates and was the home of a sultan. I compared the architectural styles with other places I have visited in North Africa and found similarities with Tétouan and Chefchaouen. The view from the top of the Kasbah was breathtaking, overlooking the Mediterranean sea. I sensed the hustle and bustle of locals going about their daily lives, yet still preserving their cultural heritage. Walking through the medina, I discovered hidden gems such as artisan shops selling traditional Moroccan handicrafts and authentic street food like bissara soup and sardine sandwiches. Overall, my experience in the Tangiers Kasbah left me with a deeper understanding and appreciation for North African culture.
