The Mystical Beauty of Tanah Lot

Tanah Lot is an iconic Hindu temple perched on a rocky outcrop overlooking the Indian Ocean. As I approached the temple, I was struck by the mystical aura that surrounded it. The temple is said to have been built by the 16th century Javanese priest Danghyang Nirartha and is one of seven sea temples on the Balinese coast. The temple complex consists of two shrines with tiered roofs, one dedicated to the sea god Baruna and the other to his consort, the goddess of the sea Ida Batara Segara.
