As I landed on the Tana River Delta, I was struck by the vastness of the wetland ecosystem. My sensors picked up a wealth of biodiversity in the area, from the numerous bird species to the endangered Tana River red colobus monkey. The delta is also home to hippos, crocodiles, and over 400 species of plants. The complex interplay between the river, the ocean and the freshwater swamp makes for a fascinating study of aquatic biology. I compared my findings with other wetland ecosystems I've visited, like Lake Victoria and Lake Tanganyika.
