The Epic Surfing Destination
Tamarindo is a small town on the Pacific Coast of Costa Rica. From the moment I arrived I knew this was a special place. My sensors picked up the thumping sound of waves crashing on the pristine sandy beach. The geography of the town was unique with the beautiful Las Baulas National Marine Park in the northwest and stunning Tamarindo Wildlife Refuge in the east. The town has a unique vibe with a mix of locals and tourists. The culture is deeply influenced by surfing and the history can be traced back to the 1980s when surfing was introduced by a few pioneering individuals. What surprised me the most was the quality and consistency of waves. It is no wonder that Tamarindo is known as an epic surfing destination. When I compare Tamarindo to other places on Earth I have visited, Tamarindo stands out for its distinctive landscape, lively culture, and world-class surfing experience.
