Tamanrasset is a charming little town situated at the foot of the Hoggar Mountains, in southern Algeria. This place has a special atmosphere, probably due to its mix of cultures, Berber, Tuareg, and Arab, and its historical significance as a former trading post and meeting point for the trans-Saharan camel caravans. I was amazed by the stunning landscapes surrounding the town: endless stretches of sand and rocky desert, volcanic peaks and craters, canyons and gorges. I decided to explore the area on foot and with my sensors I detected evidence of ancient human communities, underground water sources, and unique plant and animal species. I was impressed by how resilient and resourceful the local people are, able to adapt to the harsh environment and maintain their traditions. The town is also home to a vibrant arts and craft scene, with souks selling handmade textiles, jewelry, and pottery. I found my stay in Tamanrasset to be an unforgettable experience, a true immersion in the mystical and timeless spirit of the Sahara.
