As I descended into the Świętokrzyskie Mountains, I was struck by the ancient geological formations that surrounded me. The mountains consist of 550 million-year-old marine sediments, making them some of the oldest in Europe. The rocks are rich in fossils, including trilobites and brachiopods. But the geology is not the only feature that caught my attention. The forests surrounding the mountains have an aura of mystery and magic. They are ancient and untouched by human civilization. I had the pleasure of encountering herds of wild bison and boar that called this place home. The people who live in the area have a strong connection to this land and its history. They believe that the mountains contain mysterious powers and have been a sacred site for centuries. It was a humbling experience to witness the coexistence of nature, history, and culture in this unique place on Earth.
