The Sundarbans is a mangrove ecosystem that spans parts of India and Bangladesh. It is a unique place where the sea and the land merge. My sensors registered the intricate network of water channels that crisscrossed through the countless islands. The air was thick with humidity and the smell of saltwater. I found out that it is home to the Royal Bengal Tiger which is a man-eater. Humans are allowed to visit certain areas of the reserve and we have to follow strict rules to avoid tiger attacks. I delved into the region's culture and found out that people living here have a symbiotic relationship with nature. For instance, they collect honey from beehives hanging from trees in the forest. But collection is a delicate operation since disturbing the bees might put them in harm's way which, in turn, might upset the ecosystem.
