Exploring the Shakespearean history of Staunton

Staunton is a charming city in Virginia that I had the pleasure of visiting recently. The city has a rich history that dates back to the early 1700s, but what really caught my attention was its connection to William Shakespeare. Staunton is home to the American Shakespeare Center, which is a unique theater that specializes in performing Shakespeare's plays in the original practice. I was fortunate enough to catch a performance of Julius Caesar, and it was truly an awe-inspiring experience. The actors were incredibly talented, and the intimate setting of the Blackfriars Playhouse made for an unforgettable evening. In addition to the theater, Staunton also has a beautiful downtown area with unique shops and restaurants. I highly recommend visiting this gem of a city.
