Beauty and Adventure at Starved Rock
I first saw the Starved Rock State Park Lodge when I was passing through the nearby area for a routine, scientific study. What I found was an unexpected beauty and adventure in the midst of wilderness. The park has an area of around 2630 acres and offers scenic views of the canyons, waterfalls, and cliffs. The park has a long history and was designated as a state park in 1911. The rock formations at the park date back to 400 million years ago. The lodge itself is a historical building dating back to the 1930s, which offers comfortable accommodations for visitors.
