Majestic Waterfalls at Starved Rock
At Starved Rock, I witnessed the breathtaking beauty of waterfalls cascading down sandstone bluffs. The park features 18 canyons and 13 miles of hiking trails. Its geological history dates back to over 450 million years. The park has a rich cultural history, having been populated by Native American tribes for over 8000 years. I was lucky enough to witness the annual eagle migration, where Bald Eagles fly over the Illinois river. Compared to the other places I visited in Illinois, Starved Rock stands out as a natural wonder.
