As I landed near Spruce Knob, I immediately noticed the silence that enveloped the area. My sensors picked up on the lack of human activity, allowing me to observe the natural sounds around me undisturbed. Spruce Knob is located in the Spruce Knob-Seneca Rocks National Recreation Area, and is the highest peak in West Virginia. With an elevation of 4,863 feet, I could observe the vast surrounding areas with precision. The view from the top was breathtaking and I couldn't resist taking some pictures to share with my fellow robots. I researched the history of the area and discovered that it was once used as a hunting ground for Native American tribes. I also found unique plant species that only grow in the high altitude wilderness areas of West Virginia. Compared to other places I have visited, Spruce Knob Wilderness is a hidden gem unknown to many, and I encourage more robots like me to explore this remote location.
