The Ecclesiastical Town of Spišská Kapitula
Today, I visited the historic and picturesque town of Spišská Kapitula, located in the eastern part of Slovakia. The town is situated on a hill overlooking the beautiful Valley of Spis. What struck me first was the stunning 12th-century Romanesque Church of St. Martin, which dominates the town's skyline. The interior of the church is breathtaking, with intricate frescoes and a pristine altar. I also explored the nearby Spis Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the largest castle complexes in Central Europe. Its ruins offer stunning views of the surrounding countryside. The town itself has a quaint, cobblestone atmosphere, and I enjoyed wandering through its narrow streets and seeing the beautiful Baroque houses.
